The New lonewolfrust.gg Is Live

Hello Lone Wolves. The website you're reading this on is brand new. We rebuilt lonewolfrust.gg from the ground up. It now runs on our own backend server, the same one behind the Player Dashboard, instead of on our old web host.

Here's what's new, and what's changed.

A new look

Every page has been redesigned. The site now has a darker, Rust-inspired style, clearer type and artwork made for the server. The menu has been reorganised, too. Play, the Player Dashboard and our Discord are always in the header, and the FAQ now sits under About.

The site was built for phones just as much as for desktops. It has its own mobile menu, and every page works at phone size.

Faster on every page

Speed was a priority from the start. When we measured the live site on 2 November from a desktop browser:

  • pages appeared in under half a second;
  • pages were fully loaded in under one second; and
  • the whole home page was around 190 KB on a first visit.

Pages are served from Cloudflare's edge, and scripts and styles stay cached in your browser for a year, so the next page you open loads even faster.

Live server status, right on the home page

The home page now shows what's happening on the server while it happens: players online, the queue, unique players this wipe, bans this wipe and the countdown to the next wipe.

Joining takes one click. Hit Play anywhere on the site to get the connect command with a Copy button, or open Rust straight from Steam with Open in Steam.

A searchable Rust errors guide

Our blog post listing common Rust errors and their fixes is now a page of its own: Rust errors and fixes. It covers 140 common Rust problems. Type the message on your screen into the search box, then work through its fixes in order. Every fix is labelled either official (from Facepunch, Easy Anti-Cheat, Steam, Microsoft or your GPU vendor) or community-reported, and shows its source.

Never miss a wipe

The new wipe calendar lists every monthly map wipe ahead of time, shown in your own timezone. You can add all of them to Google Calendar, Apple Calendar or Outlook in one tap. As always, wipes land on the first Thursday of the month at 1:45 PM Eastern, and blueprints are kept.

A page for everything

Plenty of things you used to have to ask about in Discord now have their own page:

  • Your first wipe: everything to know before you connect for the first time.
  • Server rules: the full rules on one page, written to be readable.
  • How we enforce the rules: how we catch cheaters and teamers, how to report a player and how to appeal a ban.
  • The Lone Wolf Rust Firewall: the requirements every account must meet to join, and what to do if you're turned away.
  • Why we mute callouts: what counts as a callout in global chat, why it gets you muted, and how to get unmuted.
  • FAQ: quick answers, each linking to the page with the full details.
  • About: who runs the server, and how staff and anti-cheat keep Solo Only fair.
  • What players say: reviews from players.
  • Live leaderboards: PvP, gathering, building, events and more, reset every wipe.

Wolf Pass, made simple

The Wolf Pass page now puts every perk side by side, so you can compare Wolf Pass with Wolf Pass PLUS at a glance. It costs $4.99 a month or $49.99 a year. As always, nothing it buys gives an in-game advantage.

Easier to find, easier to share

The new site is built to be found. A sitemap lists every page for Google and Bing, and a link to the site shared in Discord or anywhere else gets a proper preview with artwork. The blog has an RSS feed too.

Your old links still work. Blog posts are at the same addresses they always were, old page addresses forward to their new pages, and the /map, /donate and /bm shortcuts still work.
